How to Measure

1. Measure the length:

Determine the length of the box beam you need by measuring the distance between the two points where the beam will be installed. Be sure to measure precisely to avoid any gaps or overhangs.

2. Measure the width:

Measure the width of the box beam by determining how wide you want the beam to be. This will depend on your design preferences and the dimensions of the space where the beam will be installed.

3. Measure the height:

Measure the height of the box beam by determining how tall you want the beam to be. This will also depend on your design preferences and the overall look you're trying to achieve.

4. Consider additional details:

If your box beams have any special features such as decorative trim, end caps, or other customizations, be sure to measure these as well to ensure that the final product matches your specifications.

Solid beams are exactly what they sound like—big, heavy hunks of wood. Box beams, on the other hand, give you the same rugged look without the backbreaking weight. Built from reclaimed planks and hollow inside, they install easier, don’t require major structural support, and still bring all the character of century-old timber.

Not by themselves, but they aren’t just for show either. Box beams are built for aesthetics, not load-bearing, but they can wrap existing structural supports for a seamless look. If you need a beam to hold up the house, keep it solid. If you want it to look like it does, a box beam does the trick.
