These reclaimed wood projects are all real — real homes, real barns’ worth of timber, photographed by the people who live and work under them. Box beam ceilings, solid mantels, accent walls, and whole-room transformations, from one-room refreshes to a beam order that rode a New York elevator in 8-foot sections and got joined on site.
Reclaimed Oak Boards in a Chateau Elan Home
A Chateau Elan homeowner wanted warmth overhead without losing the room’s polish, and century-old oak delivered both. Reclaimed oak boards, milled from barn stock and finished to hold their patina, now line the ceiling — every knot and nail hole earned decades before the house was built.
Solid Hand Hewn Beams in a Suwanee Georiga
These are the genuine article — solid hand hewn timbers, pulled whole from an 1800s barn and set overhead in a Suwanee home. The axe marks were cut by hand more than a century ago; all we did was clean them up, cut to length, and let the wood do the talking.
Reclaimed Pecky Cypress in Lake Oconee
Pecky cypress is one of the rarest looks in reclaimed wood — the grooves and pockets are carved by nature, not tools, and no two boards repeat. Paired with crisp white coffers in this Lake Oconee ceiling, the contrast makes the old wood read like art.
Reclaimed wood table at Oaxaca Tacos and Tequila Restuarant
Restaurants put wood through more abuse than any living room, which is exactly why Oaxaca Tacos and Tequila went reclaimed. This chevron-top table was built from old-growth boards that already survived a century of work — a few thousand taco nights won’t scare them.
