Reclaimed Heart Pine, Milled In Our Shop

Old-growth heart pine reclaimed and milled into flooring right here in Auburn, Georgia. Kiln dried, planed, and shipped nationwide.

Reclaimed heart pine flooring comes from the dense, resin-rich heartwood of old-growth pine — wood that grew so slowly its rings are packed tight and its color runs deep amber to rust. Trees like that haven’t been cut in generations. The only way to get this wood now is to reclaim it.

We mill our heart pine flooring in our own shop in Auburn. The boards are kiln dried so the floor holds still underfoot, then planed for a smooth, even surface that shows off the tight grain and warm color heart pine is known for.

Reclaimed Heart Pine Flooring, Installed

Reclaimed Wood Boards

Every board is one of a kind. Expect natural variation in color and grain, plus knots and old nail marks — that’s the wood’s history, not a defect.

Installing Reclaimed Wood Flooring

We supply the flooring; your flooring contractor or an experienced DIYer handles the install. Let the boards acclimate in the room for several days before installing, with the HVAC running at normal living conditions, and follow standard hardwood flooring practice for subfloor prep and moisture testing. Random lengths install like any tongue-and-groove floor — stagger the end joints and pull boards from several boxes as you go so color mixes evenly.

Why Homeowners and Builders Choose Beechcreek

We’ve spent years working with reclaimed timber, and we’ll help you pick the right board for the room — not just the one that’s in stock. You get straight answers on what the floor will look like, how it’s built, and what it takes to install.

And every order puts people coming out of recovery to work. That’s not a side story. It’s why the shop exists.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is heart pine?

Heart pine is the heartwood of old-growth pine. It’s denser, harder, and more resin-rich than the sapwood or fast-grown pine sold today, which is why it was the floor of choice in historic homes.

Yes. Old-growth heart pine is far harder than modern pine. It will still pick up some character marks over time, which most owners consider part of the look.

Flooring has to stay flat and tight underfoot, so we kiln dry it before milling. It’s the one product line we always kiln dry.
