Grey or brown — how do I choose?
Grey is the sun-and-rain face of the barn — silvered, casual, reads farmhouse or coastal. Brown ran under cover and reads warmer and more traditional. Order samples of both; against your own paint and light, the answer usually takes about ten seconds.
How much should I order?
Measure your wall’s square footage (width x height, minus big openings like doors), then add roughly 10–15% for cuts and end-of-row waste. Send us the wall dimensions with your quote and we’ll sanity-check the math with you..
Can I panel around a fireplace or on a ceiling?
Ceilings, yes — it’s one of the best-looking places for it. Around fireplaces, keep the clearances your local code requires between wood and the firebox; your installer will know the number for your setup. Send a photo and we’ll help you plan the layout.
Paneling Sizes We Offer
Paneling is milled to order. These are the widths we run most often.
- Single widths: 3″, 4″, 5″, 6″, 8″, 10″ and 12″
- Random-width mixes: 3/5/7, 5/7/9, or 6/8/10 — a more natural wall than a single width
- Thickness: backside planed to just under 3/4″ so every board sits flat and uniform
- Styles: pine in weathered grey or brown, mixed hardwoods in brown or a brown and grey mix, hemlock in brown skip planed, red and white oak in brown or brown and grey, and 100% white oak
Widths are finished widths. A raw board loses about an inch per side when we straight edge it, so a 6″ board off the barn finishes at 4″. The number you order is the number you get on the wall.
Sanding is available as an add-on. Wider boards in oak are harder to source in volume, so tell us early if you want 10″ or 12″ oak.
